a

Can you water Trifecta Crop Control into the soil?

Trifecta Crop Control is intended as a foliar spray and not a soil drench, we don’t sanction it, but we are aware of people doing soil treatments successfully. Cautions would be that it is a fungicide, and can harm mycorrhizae colonies, The plant itself won’t love big drinks of Trifecta, the clove oil can cause plants to exhibit some phytotoxicity. If you want to do it, go pretty low dose, and water the plant in well before treatment, and probably rinse the soil after treatment.

a

Will this burn the pistils on my plants?

The pistils on some strains are sensitive to Trifecta sometimes, fortunately, they are only necessary for receiving male pollen. Flower growth and formation isn’t negatively impacted.

a

Can Trifecta be mixed with a foliar and sprayed on at the same time?

It shouldn’t be an issue, but we can’t make any guarantees because there are so many variables when it comes to foliar options. We’ve heard of growers doing it without issues, and generally believe it should be safe, but we would recommend trying it on one or two plants before you try spraying your entire operation.

a

How does Trifecta Crop Control Work?

Trifecta Crop Control is a FIFRA (25b) exempt pesticide, fungicide, and miticide made from non-toxic, food grade essential oils that are blended with a nano-saponified emulsifier (soap).

The flavonoids that make up essential oils are called terpenes and terpene alcohols.

On the cellular level fungi and their spores have a lipid shell that protects the cells from external agents. The terpenes and terpene alcohols in essential oils weaken the lipid shell on the cellular membrane of the molds, mildews, and their spores. This allows naturally occurring external agents to break those cells down from the inside out inhibiting respiration, energy production and spore reproduction.

Why then wouldn’t everyone spray their crops with essential oils? The first obvious answer is cost, essential oils are prohibitively expensive.

In addition, Essential oils also are not miscible, in layman terms meaning they do not mix with water, so if you just sprayed essential oils all over your plants you would inhibit the mold and mildew problem, but you would also kill your plants because you would inhibit their ability to take up water and photons (light).

Trifecta uses a proprietary nano-emulsifier which is made from the saponification of Coconut and Palm oil fatty acids makes the essential oil fully miscible, which means more action with less oil.

The essential oils having been made miscible can’t cling to each other as great gobs of oil, but exist in the water as individual nano-sized particles that randomly and ceaselessly repel each other…

…This means that a lot less oil can do a lot more work with much greater effect, and also that the particles break down rapidly because they are in such a tiny aggregate state.

This also enables your plants to fully function (ie. breathe, take up water, and photosynthesize despite the action of the essential oils) The terpenes, terpene alcohols, vinegar and fatty acid surfactant molecules are all hydrocarbons. Sunlight and bacteria act on them in the aqueous phase and they degrade off of the plant as CO2 and hydrogen. Testing and pilot projects with Trifecta shows no residual from the product within 48-72 hours of use.

Due to the fact that our product enables such a small particle size, when fully diluted less than 2% of the applied diluted product is Crop Control, the rest is water. That 2% is spread evenly throughout the water matrix, and is held in such a small suspension that the hydrocarbons portions of the molecules, both the soap and the essential oils occur as delicious food for beneficial microorganisms on the plant and in the soil.

The combined action of bio-degradation from resident bacteria, and the degradation action from the intense photons hitting the plant everything is broken down and gone within 48-72 hours.

Sunlight, photons helps speed up the process, but even in the dark bacteria will be hard at work breaking the residuals down. By the time the medicine is dry the product should be fully degraded and the bacteria should all be dead. Bacteria thrive on warm moist surfaces, so as the plant dies they die, but since it takes 7 days plus to cure your medicine even if the product was applied as it was being cut bio degradation would be complete by the time the curing process was completed.

Part of the beauty of Trifecta is that it has a partially systemic nature in that the extremely small micelles formed with our essential oils and our nano-emulsifier allows the product to penetrate to the cellular level where systemic gray mold spores try to hide.

The essential oils used to manufacture Trifecta Crop Control were also chosen for their ability to mitigate and repel pest insects.

Similar to the action that occurs on the lipid shells of molds and mildews, terpenes and terpene alcohols break down the chitin in insect’s exo-skeletons. Using our technology the particle size of the essential oils in the water become so small that the respiratory systems of pests is also impacted by contact, essentially suffocating them.

Most commercially available insecticides affect the endocrine systems of pests, and over time pests evolve resistances to these molecules. The respiratory system is different; there is no evolving a resistance to something that prevents the ability to breath.

Trifecta Crop Control works on molds, mildews, and pests, using food safe essential oils, and does it in novel ways using a nano sized soap molecule as a delivery vehicle to allow it to do its work.

a

How do I store Trifecta once mixed into an RTU spray?

As long as your water is clean that you diluted it with, there are no special requirements just room temp, out of direct sunlight.

a

Does Trifecta kill bugs and their eggs?

Trifecta totally kills bugs. With eggs it usually takes a few applications to break the bugs life cycle. We absolutely recommend spraying as a preventative to ensure no bugs or eggs get a chance to spread.

a

Can Trifecta be used as a root drench for something like root aphids?

That’s a tricky question, officially we neither recommend nor sanction it, Trifecta Crop Control is intended for foliar applications, but we have heard success stories from users, along with some warning caveats. The important takeaways would be first; that plants can exhibit some symptoms of phyto-toxicity if they take a big drink of Crop Control, in order to protect against this, be sure that your plant is full of water prior to doing a soil drench, and rinse the soil clean several minutes after the application. The second point would be that if you are building a living soil, and have a well-established mycorrhizae colony, it will be depleted, and need to be replenished and rebuilt. So a root drench isn’t the intended application, and it has some downsides, but as an item of last resort, there are people who have used the product for this type of application and reported success.

a

Does Trifecta kill or just repel pests?

Trifecta is an essential oil and soap based product with oils picked for various functions, some of them are repellents, others disrupt reproduction, others are kill on contact suffocants.

a

How long does Trifecta RTU spray stay good once mixed?

With mixed with pure water Trifecta Crop Control can last up to 6 months after being mixed into a ready to use spray.

a

What are the active ingredients in Trifecta Crop Control

Active Ingredients: Thyme Oil 14%, Clove Oil 10%, Garlic Oil 9%, Peppermint Oil 4%, Corn Oil 3%, Geraniol 3%, Citric Acid 2%, Rosemary Oil 2% Inert Ingredients: 53% Filtered Water, Soap, Isopropyl Alcohol, Vinegar

a

What should I use to apply Trifecta Crop Control?

Many growers are using electrostatic sprayers to apply Crop Control. While any atomizer will work, charging the droplets as they leave the atomizer greatly reduces the amount of product lost to overspray.

a

Will the isopropyl alcohol in Trifecta break down THC if sprayed during flower?

The answer is no. The amount of alcohol in the diluted sprayed product is approximately 5 ml per gallon. That’s 5/3785 or .01% There are 2 roles that the alcohol plays in the formula, one is as a carrier for the essential oils, and the other is as a rapid evaporant, helping the product dry after application, this helps greatly with efficacy toward PM.

a

Is Trifecta Crop Control product OMRI certified?

Trifecta Crop Control is a liquid concentrate made primarily with essential oils and soap. It does have a small amount of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol in it. We believe that it would likely fall within the scope of USDA guidelines for an organic pesticide, but we have not pursued certification with OMRI or any other certifier to date. It contains no ingredients that would fail testing for any of the testing regulations in place in all of the rec states.

a

Will Trifecta’s oils find their way into extracts?

We use a proprietary high sheer milling process that cuts the essential oil droplets into nano sized particles. This causes accelerated bio-degrading of the oils, we recommend spraying once a week with a low dose for a preventative, and stopping application a week prior to harvest. We have many large legal recreational growers using our product, and everyone tests clean. This includes processers that make extracts, had have had multiple users enter product in the Emerald Cup, everyone passed.

a

Can you spray Trifecta Crop Control in flower?

Yes, Trifecta is effective and safe in the flower and vegetative stages of the grow cycle. For best results we recommend that Trifecta Crop Control be applied weekly as a preventative up until a week prior to harvest using a low dose dilution; 0.5-1oz per gallon. For infestations generally a 2oz to gallon dilution is sufficient, and can also be applied during flower.

a

Are there residual oils on the plant after being sprayed?

Very minimal, can’t see any residue after 48 hours under a microscope

a

Where can I purchase Trifecta Crop Control?

Trifecta Crop Control can be purchased in select growing stores across the United States and you can Purchase Trifecta Crop Control Online with Free Shipping Here

a

Does Trifecta Crop Control contain any GMO ingredients?

Trifecta Crop Control does not contain any ingredients that are genetically modified.

a

Does Trifecta Crop Control have any effect on caterpillars/worms or moths?

Trifecta Crop Control was specifically designed to address and mitigate issues with fungal species and parasitic mite species. That said we have heard several anecdotes about Trifecta working well as a deterrent for caterpillars. Specifically, we were told about a situation where a farmer sprayed the perimeter of his field, from the ground up into the foliage of trees with Crop Control using a cold fogger spraying apparatus. Apparently all of his neighbors had huge issues with caterpillars, and he didn’t. That said, there are many caterpillar species, and it wasn’t what Crop Control was designed for. We can’t make any promises or guarantees, but we believe that it would be reasonable to assume a certain degree of repellent effect.

a

When should I stop using Trifecta Crop Control in relation to harvest?

We recommend that Trifecta Crop Control can be applied up to a week before harvest.

a

Can Trifecta Crop Control be used 24 hours before/after a sulfur vaporization?

Users have reported using the product in conjunction with a sulfur application. Out of an abundance of caution, Trifecta LLC recommends that a 24 hour period is allowed between sulfur applications and Crop Control applications.

a

Is Trifecta Crop Control USDA Certified Organic?

Trifecta Crop Control has not currently gone through the process of receiving any specific certifications for organic use. Crop Control is a FIFRA 25(b) exempt broad spectrum miticide/ fungicide made with soap and essential oils. The only ingredient that isn’t naturally sourced is Isopropyl Alcohol. Certain organic certifiers will accept 25(b) designation as approved for organic use, other certifiers won’t approve the product due to the presence of IPA. Trifecta LLC does not source any GMO ingredients, or use any other ingredients that could cause issues for certifiers. Crop Control has been subject to ingredient review for specific farmers by farm certifiers, and were told that based on the ingredients it could be used.

a

Will I test clean under state regulations using Trifecta?

Users have been reporting great success with testing clean as evidenced on the customer testimonial page on the website. Trifecta does not use any ingredients that would cause a failure for regulatory testing in any state.

a

What other products should I avoid when using Trifecta Crop Control?

Really, when it comes to IPM strategy we believe that Crop Control stands alone and is all that is needed. That said it is not specifically contraindicated with any other products. We do recommend out of an abundance of caution that when applying other pesticide products a 24 hour window is observed between applications.

Amazing product!
Posted by Bruce Hoyt on January 8, 2018

I was looking for an organic solution to fight mold, mildew, and gnats. I came across this product and they sent me a free growers sample. I had a small outbreak of powdery mildew through an unfiltered exhaust fan. After one application the P.M. was completely gone, it even took care of most of the fungus gnats that I had flying around. If you are looking for an organic solution for crop control, look no further than Trifecta, this product works great. I will always recommend trifecta to anyone.
